Thanks many for the detailed comment!
Yes, I’ve heard about the Annunaki, but never read about it in detail.
I fully understand your point of view, but it goes against some fundamental principles.
The first and foremost principle is that there is nothing outside of God.
While you may be right that evolution has not yet been fully proven, we may yet discover a mechanism for spontaneous genetic mutation. Like I said, it’s not so much about what is “true” from a scientific point of view, but what allows more experimentation.
You could think of God as being an infinitely large puzzle which “assembles” itself (or experiments itself) everywhere at the same time. This means that everything possible and impossible is within God. A superhero comic is part of God. And the fact of drawing it is akin to assembling pieces of the “infinite” puzzle. It is a way to “experiment” something that was part of infinity.
As for the reason why certain theories sound more convincing than others, it has to do with the way the Universe and God function. God always wants to experiment more. So a future where humanity becomes extinct in a nuclear winter is out of the question. And the reason some theories become more “believable” as time advances, is due to the future influencing the past. If all “possible” futures where we stick to the theory of evolution and “mainstream” science, lead to an “end of the world” scenario, and only a future where we are rescued by extra-terrestrials ensures our survival, than lo and behold, the “past” will show proof of our creation by the Annunaki..
This might seem crazy, but that is the way Time works. It doesn’t unravel itself from past to future, but is a continuous “feedback” loop between all points in time, between all possible futures/pasts.
At our human scale, it works the same way. For instance, if you have suffered a trauma when you were young, and are scared of dogs, it will determine your future behavior. But if you want to be a veterinarian, you have to overcome that trauma. You can therefore “rewrite” the past, or reinterpret it, and that changes your future. Our beliefs also work in the same way. Believing in something often becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. For instance, if every single neighbor in a neighborhood believes that he/she is the only one caring about the environment and nobody else cares, how long do you think it will take for all of them to stop caring because they have the “proof” that nobody cares? (Read: they will proactively over-interpret what they see, like a piece of trash on the ground which might have been accidentally dropped by someone suddenly becomes something done on purpose)
In any case, sorry if it doesn’t make much sense.. I’m also still trying to understand all of this! :-D
