Thanks for this, interesting perspective, yet I am a bit disappointed that you present this idea, that the brain is a computer, as something controversial or hard to believe, and you present a lot of evidence to support your claim.
To me, you don’t go far enough. In french, you would say: “you’re kicking down an open door”.
You should push your intuition way further and explore the “simulation theory”. Not that I agree with Nick Bostrom’s arguments, but it’s an interesting start. The problem is that of wondering whether “reality” is really what it appears to be, or whether what we experience is just something generated by our “brain/computer”. It’s the same as believing that reality is what you see on your computer screen, when in reality, it’s just ONE possible interface for “interpreting” 1s and 0s.
Here’s an article which explores this idea, without caring about the “evidence” so much, because evidence produced from “inside” a video game is… well… relative… :-)
