Hi Chris,

Thanks for this article!

My own personal understanding of God, is indeed, the “All”, or pure, infinite (that word is important) consciousness. That is, to imagine it better, it is a consciousness which can think infinitely fast, which means that it is everything at the same time. Thus the big difference between existence (the fact of being something, in this case, being everything) and experience (the fact of experiencing something). You can be everything but can you experience everything? That’s a delicate question. If God is everything at the same time, then it’s as if, taken to the human scale, you would be born while you die, your first tooth is being pulled out while you experience your first kiss, you are being hit by a car while you are contemplating a sunset on a beach… I guess you get the contradiction and impossibility of being able to both exist/be everything and experience everything at the same time. Which is why, in many books, God is depicted as perfect stillness. A consciousness where time does not exist (obviously, if your consciousness is infinite, then it is as if you could stop time).

I wrote an article to help clarify where God comes from and where it all leads to here: https://medium.com/p/my-spiritual-journey-17-time-does-not-exist-64235d224d44

It’s quite lengthy, but I’m sure you’ll be able to relate! ;-)
