Don’t misunderstand me. The Bible or the Koran were tremendous upgrades from pagan civilizations where human sacrifice, rape and murder was the norm.

I am saying that the whole story of humanity is trying to uncover the rules to enable all of us to interact with each other in harmonious ways. And if you look back into the past, you can see that these “rules” came into focus gradually, incrementally, with pagan sacrificial cults and polytheism transforming into monotheism, transforming into ethics and philosophy, transforming into human rights and democracy. But the overall “logic” behind these is the same. It is the same as if the Universe had experimented several different rules in physics and in the end “selected” the ones which were most promising for a harmonious interaction between sub-atomic particles. A “natural selection” applied to physics. And at our level, it’s a “natural selection” of human ideas which enable for a harmonious interaction between humans. That doesn’t mean that Jesus’s teachings will make the cut! Just that they are part of the evolutionary process. :-)
